Dialogue Only #1

I used to do this exercise a lot in college.  Just take a picture and write an exchange between characters in dialogue only to create a story.  The key is to try and create individual voices that are rich in subtext.

“Are they too tight?”

“Not really.”

“What about your legs?”

“They’re okay.”

“I have a surprise for you.”

“What’s she doing here?”

“You said you love me, right?”

“Yeah, but…”

“Then you know what to do.”

“I’m not sure about this.”

“I am.”

“The floor is cold.”

“Did I say you could speak?”

“You never said I couldn’t.”

“I want him to close his eyes and think that it’s me.”

“Why?”

“Maybe you should ask him that?”
